First REAL post!

So, as you can see from the picture above, I have aquired an injured arm in the past little while:) As you can probably gather, I fell off of my mare, Holly. A lot of people ask when I say I fell off "why would your horse buck you off?" My answer to that is that sometimes, it is not so much the horse being bad, as it is general stupidity:) But anyway, my broken wrist did not stop me from being involved with my horses! I have been longing Holly over jumps and occasionally jumping beside her just on the lead rope, and attempting to keep her and myself in *cough* tip-top shape so when I get back into it, we aren't starting from scratch. Here are a few tips as to how you can keep your horse in shape when you are feeling out of it: 1. Spend time grooming them- even though you may not be exercising them, it is still important that they get human interaction and don't just sit in a field eating grass! And, it keeps you off the couch and out of the potato chips! 2. Ground work- leading over poles and small jumps, and working on listening to your voice on the longe line is awesome exercise for both you and your equine friend:) 3. Don't be embarrassed- If you are injured badly, as in, you cannot walk or you have to be in bed because of illness, don't be afraid to admit it! Ask some one who you know and trust to work your horse for you! I know I had a friend from Pony Club come and ride Holly for me! Well, that is all I have for today, but please stay tuned for more tips and tricks to become a better rider!!! Wow, that sounded like something a cheesy radio announcer would say... Anywho! CHEERS, !Wigtastic!
