Sorry!

HOLA! Well, I guess I should be apologizing for not posting every day like I said I would, but to be honest, I have been so busy it's not even funny! I forget if I already mentioned that my soccer team won (as in, took home the gold medal!) our tournament in Portland, OR, but I am too lazy to look back at my old posts to find out... Hahaha! Also, I shaved half my head! O.K. now don't freak, it is not nearly as bad as it sounds:) I will see if I can get my technology skills to post a pic of what it looks like:) And, I have big news... Holly and I might be going Novice in our next show!!! I am not sure yet, but she is doing so well, we might get to:)!!! For those of you who don't know what the heck I am talking about when I say "NOVICE", it is a level that you compete at in Eventing shows. And for those of you who don't know what "EVENTING" is, it is, in this order: Dressage, Stadium Jumping, and Cross Country. I am not going to explain what those three things are, but you obviously have internet, find out for your selves! For jumping in the novice level, you jump 2ft 11inches and it is so cool, it feels like you are flying::)!!!!!!!!! Sooo, ya................. TTYL MY HORSE LOVING BUDDIES! !WIGTASTIC! Wait! Ahhh, I see, you thought since I put my name that I was done... Well I'm not! I would like to explain the difference between SHOW JUMPING and STADIUM JUMPING. SHOW JUMPING: is just jumping in an arena, it does not include Dressage or X-Country. STADIUM JUMPING: is what is done in and Eventing competition, meaning that you also do a Dressage test and a X-Country round. In essence, Stadium and Show jumping are the same, but are called different things depending on the competition. I know, confusing, right? I just learned that tidbit of info, and thought I would share it! O.K. now you can log off:)

Well everyone, I rode my horse, Holly , today for the first time since I broke my wrist. Success!! So, I will be attending a horse show Sept. 14, and seeing my buddy Morgan on Wednesday!!! Random Horse Fact: Did you know that horses "weave" their heads back and forth because it releases a chemical in their brain and it feels good, and acts almost like a drug! Question: Who watched the Equestrian events in the Olympics, and who was your favorite competitor? !WIGTASTIC!

Have any of you ever studied for a test so hard, that by the time the test came, you were so sick of hearing all the facts, you failed? Well, I have sat in a very uncomfortable chair for 2 hours today making I don't know how many of those small cards that always seem to get lost. Any way, I was making them for my C1 rating in pony Club... for those of you who don't know what that is, you obviously have the internet, look it up! I was just hoping that some one might be kind enough to wish me luck and to pray for me that the books don't swallow me whole! Eeeeeek! Yikes, I must be tired:) Oh, and I got my cast off today, so I will be riding Monday! I will keep you posted on how that goes, including how we do in my soccer tournament this weekend! !WIGTASTIC!

First REAL post!

So, as you can see from the picture above, I have aquired an injured arm in the past little while:) As you can probably gather, I fell off of my mare, Holly. A lot of people ask when I say I fell off "why would your horse buck you off?" My answer to that is that sometimes, it is not so much the horse being bad, as it is general stupidity:) But anyway, my broken wrist did not stop me from being involved with my horses! I have been longing Holly over jumps and occasionally jumping beside her just on the lead rope, and attempting to keep her and myself in *cough* tip-top shape so when I get back into it, we aren't starting from scratch. Here are a few tips as to how you can keep your horse in shape when you are feeling out of it: 1. Spend time grooming them- even though you may not be exercising them, it is still important that they get human interaction and don't just sit in a field eating grass! And, it keeps you off the couch and out of the potato chips! 2. Ground work- leading over poles and small jumps, and working on listening to your voice on the longe line is awesome exercise for both you and your equine friend:) 3. Don't be embarrassed- If you are injured badly, as in, you cannot walk or you have to be in bed because of illness, don't be afraid to admit it! Ask some one who you know and trust to work your horse for you! I know I had a friend from Pony Club come and ride Holly for me! Well, that is all I have for today, but please stay tuned for more tips and tricks to become a better rider!!! Wow, that sounded like something a cheesy radio announcer would say... Anywho! CHEERS, !Wigtastic!
